yeah, I just wanna let 'em know,
this baby don't cry

A low, grumpy sound of a groan followed by a sleepy whine left her lips as she was roused by her sister. The deep sleep she’d fallen into the night before had been so restful, she didn’t want to be roused from it now that the time had apparently t come. As Margarita wiggled her way from Aventuras, inviting the morning chill to take the place her sister’s body warmth had been providing, the young grullo was finally forced to crack open her sleep-crusted lids. She yawned and slowly unfolded her limbs, groaning as she pulled herself upright and shook off, lowering her painted face to rub her eyes on her knee.

Do I look okay?

Aventuras lifted her head and blinked sleepily before a grin cracked over her mouth. “Yeah, sis. You look good.”

Aventuras herself, with her sleep tousled mane, bits of dirt and dead grasses clinging to her coat, did not look as preened and presentable as her sister did. She gave her head a toss to throw her hair all to one side and get her split-color forelock out of her eyes, then sighed and looked around them.

With the morning light she could give their surroundings a more proper inspection. It wasn’t anything drastically different than the large meadows the Cove herd often grazed in, but at the same time, it was. The trees looked different, the snow and ground trampled down by the tracks of the multitude of horses who traveled through here. Briefly Aventuras tried to picture her mother here as a foal, as Maia had told her of the years she spent growing up on Crossing Isle, but it was impossible to imagine her mother as a child.

“Who’re you hoping might see you anyways?” She asked curiously, drawing her attention back to Margarita, still somewhat amused by her sister’s supposed importance in looking presentable and pretty. Playfully, Aventuras could not keep from teasing, “Ooo, do you have a secret Lagoon bad boy boyfriend dad doesn’t know about?”

She knew well enough Margarita did not have a stallion off Tinuvel, as this was both sister’s first time exploring without their parent’s accompaniment, but teasing her siblings was sometimes just too fun of an opportunity to pass up.
