"Calypso?” his voice was low and barely audible above the rush of the ocean's waves. She does not acknowlege the name and instead allowed the darkness to take her from this place.

There was just darkness. Darkness all around her and then from the darkness was the faint whispering. "Mother," the dark faced girl materilized and she gently touched the skin of her shoulder. She was gentle and kind, her dark eyes sparkled and a smile gracefully trailed across her lips. "Mirella..." the name of the child bubbled up from the dark parts of her mind and there was no denying that this was her child. Where are you, Mother? Mirella asked.

"Lost. I am lost," she whispered as she shifted her bicolored eyes around her, only to find the world still filled with darkness. She closed her eyes and drew a ragged breath across her whiskered lips.

Moment by moment she was drawn from the darkness and back into the concious world. She could feel his lips across her tender flesh and his warm breath against shoulder. Her heart quickened at his touch and her breath became short in her lungs. ”You are safe here.” he whispered. Then he stepped so that his shadow could lay over and shield her from the sun's harsh rays. "I am?" she muttered the question as her eyes fluttered open. The searing pain in her head caused her to drop her gaze, her head pounded and threatened to split.

She drew a ragged breath across her lips as moment by moment the searing pain lessened. "D..d..do you know who Mirella is?" she gently asked the russet Desert King. Perhaps, in his time here, he had come across a dark faced girl. Her daughter, her child. She once more tilted her chiseled head upward toward him so that she could hear his answer. She would be lying if she didn't take this time to admire the thick coils of muscles across his shoulders and the handsome curve of his nose.

She could not ignore the familarity that tugged at the darkness in her mind. Why did she feel as if this was not their first meeting? The pounding in her head worsened, "Damn," she winced in pain. Her body was tired, and every movement sent her head pounding again. But she knew she could not stay here on this exposed beach.

"Will you help me to somewhere that I can rest?" she asked as she slowly and painstakingly drew her legs beneath her. There was no escaping the Desert King, atleast in her current condition and perhaps, he could help her figure out where her daughter was.
