"Old men tend to be crankier, I've found. They also cry more often. That why you don�t want anyone around?" her words taunted him, with an exasperated sigh and an eye roll he paused. She sure had a way of crawling under his skin - in such a short amount of time - and it vexed him. He heard the shuffle of her hooves across the dried leaves as she followed after him. Fantastic. he thought to himself. No nap.

"I don�t know who you are but � I appreciate your style at least.� awww, a compliment... he wondered if she almost choked on it. A smile tugged at his whiskered lips at the vision of her choking (just for a breath) on her own words. That would serve her right for interrupting his quiet, alone time.

"Thanks," he said dryly as another sigh lingered on his lips as he considered his next step. He swiveled his bone white face to look over at her. He acknowledged the scars across her pelt and suddenly felt a sort of kinship toward the mare. She too was battle worn and seen her fair share of fighting. "I was on my way to take a nap and there is enough room for two," he paused as a lopside smile tugged at his whiskered lips, "I am Bj�rn, it sure would be strange if you joined me in this cramped space without knowing my name."

He settled beneath the naked branches, cocked his hindleg, and lazily he flicked his tail across his haunches. "So, what brings you to the Isles?" he asked. Years spent wandering the Isles has taught him that all who washed up on her shores have a story to tell.
