I am the monster in the woods;

The wolfish grin on his face faulters as she turns towards the sounds of his forest. Why the beast demanded he stalk her like some innocent doe he would never rightly understand. Yet somehow, together as one, they wait for her to flee. Yet even in the feral glare of his eyes, there is no terror of fear shinning back into his. Instead of stiffening like a nervous doe or leaping away from a potential threat like an adolescent fawn, the mare simply stares. Although it is mere moments that pass between them in silence, Loupgaru imagines the world itself has stopped turning if just to stare in wide eyed wonder at the interaction unfolding in the shadows of the forest. The beast wants to growl, wants to snarl its claim and lunge towards her with slathering jowls parted and hungry to sink its fangs into her withers and claim her as his own like he had wanted to do the first day his eyes laid upon her. Already he had left his mark on her shoulder and yet even then she managed to escape him the moment his back was turned. Now, now the beast all but demands he take her beneath him and bind her to him in a way that Parvati could never untangle. As before, more than ever, he wants her and the burning in his body screams she be his.

She snorts, the plume of hot breath rising like smoke from the nostrils of a sleeping dragon. She stomps her foreleg and tips her ears backwards but she does not flee. His own mahogany ears flex back and forth atop his skull as he lifts his proud head and blinks in confusion. Why? Why did she not run from him as so many others did? Why did she not disappear into the forest and leave him aching for her touch. Why was there a question in her eyes that demanded an answer and yet still she remained silent. And then, she is in motion. Like the jungle cat he had faced as a child, she lunges towards him. There is no scream of rage from her lips or fury in the hard snort blasting from her nostrils. Instead, there is only motion and glorious motion it was.

Yellow gold eyes glitter as together he and the wolf join as one. Muscles bind and release within him as he too thrusts himself towards her. Excitement screams from his veins, adrenaline quickening the pace of his blood as heat overwhelms him. Raven tipped ears disappear beneath the wind knotted mantle of his thick mane. Whiskered jaws part as he lengthens his stride to close the space between them. Only when he is within reach does he dig his hind legs into the snow and needle strewn dirt to raise his forelimbs in a dramatic rear. He does not lift himself high enough to expose the vulnerable flesh of his underbelly but he does lift high enough to strike out with his forelegs and scream his dominance over her. A sadistic smile becomes a permanent fixture upon his lips as he returns to earth and snakes his neck towards her, a whuffing growl lingering in his throat as he reaches to touch her flesh and ensure that she is no longer the phantom in his darkest thoughts or a manifestation of his memory. Long, parti-colored tail flicks impatiently back and forth against his muscular hips with an audible snap as he takes another experimental step closer, attempting to close the distance between them to near nothing.
