GUIDELINES

- the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
- anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
- adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
- the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
- the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors
we could be strangers in the night

YOUR LOVE IS ALWAYS DANGEROUS
and now i'm lost in us

“You are welcome here, Lucerne.” Zevulun knew it would be wise to be a little more cautious with a stranger, but the energy Lucerne exuded made him feel trustworthy from the start. Maybe they had kindred energy, an eye for the same goal. Zevulun had wanted to secure a safe place for his family to grow and for the families of others, but he hadn’t anticipated the responsibilities that came with leadership. The past few years had taught him a lot, and there’d been many times he’d questioned his capability as a leader.

“The Prairie is large enough to sustain plenty of horses.” Zevulun said, gesturing to the wide sweep of land behind and around him. It was true, the feeding was plenty; even in winter it was easy enough to dig out of the snow. “If trouble comes, protect mine, protect everyone’s family like you would your own, and we’ll do the same for yours.” A communal home. A safe one, with plenty of vigilant and watchful eyes to keep the entire large expanse of the territory protected. “No one lives here who doesn’t want to, either,” he added carefully. That was important to him. Something about Lucerne told him he didn’t need to concern himself with that rule being challenged.

“You just arrived to the islands, you said?” Zevulun clarified, then smiled somewhat sympathetically. “I was born on them, and my family has extensive history here, but I left for a decade myself and returning was… a lot.” His glacial blues regarded the uniquely marked and colored stallion. “What brought you here?- If you don’t mind my asking,” he interrupted himself quickly, all too aware that it often wasn’t the kindest of circumstances that threw new horses ashore the chain of Lost Islands.
