Rats or how one thing leads to another

Saw a Rat this afternoon in my backyard in downtown Barrie. It was under my Sunflower feeder. It scurried back under my old Wooden Coach House when I approached. With a bit of luck, it won't be around for long.
I had recently heard of rats being at a neighbours' who feeds birds.
I live three short blocks from the main street.
During the Covid lockdowns restaurants and bars were closed. The Rats lost their plentiful food sources and started moving uptown. Now they are at the bird feeders in the neighbourhood. I hope the local Barred Owls are eating well.
