FIRE CANNOT KILL A DRAGONRhaenys looked down briefly, focusing on her reflection rippling gentle beneath her. Pale lashes fluttered over her dark eyes as she met her own gaze. "Surely you'd help guide a poor lost soul home, wouldn't you?" A smirk curls one side of her lips up and she lifts her head, meeting his gaze again. "Surely you don't presume my character?" Her ears flick out to the side in mock concern, "I fear for the hill if you are already lost, dear king," Her expression does not betray her thoughts as she watches him. There is curiosity that flickers in the brightness of her eyes, but the eagerness to have found someone to match wits with does not show on her face. She remembers how unprepared she had felt when she had met the other colt at the edge of the dunes. She would not fall for such a thing again. Rhaenys would remain in control of herself. Of the situation. Of everything.
She turns away from him again, wading deeper into the nearly clear waters that reach halfway up her barrel. She watches him over her shoulder as he 'apologizes,' and she lets a soft laugh fall from her lips. "You know, I thought ladies knew how to introduce themselves. Are you sure you're one?" He challenges her and she wants to scream from the hilltops that she is more than a lady, she is a queen. That he should know her name just as the rest of the islands should. But Rhaenys is a secret. She was meant to lay low, and with the shifting titles in Salem she does not know where the alliances lie.
She doesn't know if she can trust this stranger with such sensitive information. Pale lashes fall over her dark eyes again, a soft calming breath, and she looks at him again. The smirk has returned to her face. "Earn my name and you shall have it." And not a moment sooner.
