He was a shell of his former self. All the hopes and dreams he had for his family have all faded away. It has been long enough for him to realize they weren't coming back. The little family he had poured his soul into. The whole reason he had stayed in the Dunes despite his worry of the new Queen. It was all to keep them safe and under a secured leader. None of it mattered now. He stays in the Dunes in the hope they would return. His children would know where to find him. If they even wanted to see him again.

Hooves lazily take him closer to the ocean where he often daydreams of their return. The stinging memory was still vivid of the day Scorpio found him. Frantic, depressed, and in such a panic he could barely breathe. That memory wasn't his favorite or a time he wished to ever relive. Unfortunately, there was nothing to wash the bad memories away. Aries squints as she stares out across the glistening waves. Just like every day since they dissapred he saw no sign of them. The anguish he felt drove his eyes away from the beach.

This is when he saw the figure of the Queen in the distance. Nyimara was the exact stance of power over the Dunes, but this is one of the reasons he grew nervous around her. The mare held more experience, and strength, than he could ever imagine. All those dreams he once had of being something were crushed under the weight of his own failures. It was made worse by the mighty appearance of the leaders who ran the Dunes. He was not like them nor could he ever be.
