Mottled ears tipped forward in earnest interest as the stallion next to her begin to speak. If his description was accurate, then the land he lived in was quite special indeed. Zaulane could hear the admiration resonating in his voice as Gavriel elaborated more about the hot springs. She was quite curious about them, indeed. "I've never seen one, no! Though they sound delightful." The spotted girl wondered just how hot the water was and if one could truly soak in its waters. What a marvel that would be.

Then he asked what brought her here. Zaulane tipped her head down slightly, and a small chuckle left her mouth. She turned to him again, almost a little sheepish. "I'm not sure really," Zaulane replied. "It's pleasant enough, where I'm from. I just wanted to see.. more?" Shaking her head to herself, Zaulane looked away, suddenly aware again that she didn't know what she was doing here or what was next.

With a sigh, the spotted mare stared forward, out across the sea. The spray of the surf was close enough to touch even from where they were on the shore. Her brow furrowed slightly as she mused to herself. Why did I leave home? How could she convey how the comfort of home and its stifling complacency made her skin crawl? Her parents, bless them, were content to never leave their small corner of the world, but Zaulane? She wanted more. At least now, while she was young and eager to see and do and live. There were deserts, fields of ice, swamps, and riverlands, among other things. Not to mention all those that she would meet along the way. There was too much of.. everything to stay home.
