It is better to light one small candle than to curse the darkness

bacardi

surrounded by darkness yet enfolded in light

Bacardi wasn’t surprised when Twinge seemed shocked; though he had never seen her unsure before. If she had been, she had clearly played it off as if she weren’t. But unlike her, Bacardi was filled with absolute, unquestionable certainty. He had thought about it since the moment he had claimed the Forest. He had only waited because he wanted to make sure that this would truly be their home first. Now that their child had been born, Bacardi held no desire to ever leave again.

“You’re loyalty is unquestionable, Twinge. I know that you would never betray me. Just as I have never doubted you’re fierceness. Protecting the Forest, protecting this family. Why would I ever ask anyone else? Bacardi replied before giving a soft chuckle as he gazed into her beautiful eyes. “Besides, I know you won’t mind keeping me in line too.” Reaching over, he playfully lipped at her cheek before pulling away.

As much as he hated too, Bacardi parted from Twinge’s side to step away from her. His golden gaze swept around them, his dark nostrils flaring to drag in scents; but all he could see and smell was the forest. Aside from the birth. The stallion didn’t want to wait for danger to come lurking in though. “As soon as you think Burn is strong enough, we should leave this spot.” Bacardi commented, before looking back over to the mother and son. There was no need to explain any further of why.
