Life was ever changing, but it seemed to Aventuras it changed for everyone but her. The past spring her mother gave birth to a colt, her first brother, and Aventuras found herself enjoying watching over him or her sisters in her mother's place. As the oldest born that responsibility had fallen to her through the last three years as her mother gave her sibling after sibling. Only this year... this year when she watched little Oscuro go zipping around the Cove, or when he tucked up to her to take a nap, she felt some weird... stirring. It was a stirring she'd never felt before.
It was starting to drive her mad. The close of fall was drawing near, but not near enough. Tinuvel already saw snow and the dark waters churned somewhat dangerously, but Aventuras plunged into them anyways. It had been too many days of that growing, yawning ache.
The meadow was the place on Crossing Isle she and Margarita had visited, so the meadow was where Aventuras went. The cold saltwater was still dampening her coat, making the greys and charcoal blacks even darker and the white even brighter. She shivered as she drew herself to a stop, eyes widening at the sight of a red boy rearing up in the moonlight directly in her path. Aventuras snorted in surprise, ears flicking, drew a step back, and then planted her hooves. When he turned around and saw her, the expression that crossed her face made have to fight off a smile.
"Um- that's okay." She tossed her head a little to throw her long white bangs back out of her blue eyes. They peered beneath long, dark lashes at him. That yawning ache returned, but it felt different... "I'm Aventuras." She swallowed and said - "The moonlight suits you." and didn't know where she'd gotten the courage to compliment the stranger or what to say next.
