It was late, very late, but he was still awake. When Bacardi was busy with the rest of the herd, or patrolling the borders, he stayed very close to his little family. He may be one of the younger members of the group, but he was determined to keep them safe. His mother, his aunt Grizel, and now his little cousin Úlla. They were very important individuals in his life that he was bound to protect as the stallion. A young stallion, but a stallion nonetheless. Seeing and hearing how sad they were over Maeve’s capture made him even more protective over them. Bacardi was the only stallion he would allow to get close.

Dagda watches as little Úlla cuddles up to her mother as they sleep. The little filly brings him so much joy. She reminds me so much of Amaryllis even though she was the spitting image of Grizel. Úlla was literally Grizel in tiny form, but just her age was the same as his sister’s the last time he saw her. It was soon after this that his father left the Harbor, taking Amaryllis with him. Dagda hasn’t seen her in so long, but he remembers his sister looking so much like him. She was marked with some white, but they both mirrored much of their sire’s image. Daracha also commented on how handsome he was, but he could see the sadness in her eyes. She missed Osmanthus.

It was clear to him that life did not always go to plan. Even Grizel's knight in shining armor has not always been there for her. He wonders where the road of life would take him next and if he would one day have a mate by his side. There was still plenty of time for that, but it was still a thought in his head. Bright eyes glance over his sleeping family one last time before he turns to look behind him. Was anyone else still awake at this hour?
