I'm filled with flaws and attitude

If you need perfect, I'm not built for you

The most interesting thing Devi can think of was this mare’s attraction to her. Sure, there was some age between them, but the same could be said for many shared parents. Adults do not seem to care of your age when they seek comfort. Some, it seems, do not even care if you are of the same gender. It would come to a shock to her that Devi was no longer an innocent virgin. The overo mare would learn this later if she did not already smell the male’s musk on her skin. Devi was hopefully that the sea had washed the scent away with its thick salt. But really what could this mare provide that Vadim could not? Or even what her mother could not? She had shelter, safety (until recently), food, royalty, and now even the new life in her womb. What more could she want?

The only thing left for her to seek was the notion of love that her mother shared with her fathers. It was just ironic that she found it right before being shooed off to Salem. Devi was upset she could not explore the notion further, but this will do. Vanya seems interesting enough. Surprise covers her features as she realizes just how close Vanya has gotten after introducing herself. ”Is there something wrong?” Was her face that easy to read? There was no way Vanya could know the cause of her worry and she was sure there was no way for her to fix it. Her head shakes when Vanya asks if there was anything she could do. Though maybe she could find something out for her.

Even so, Devi does not reach out to touch the mare. She was still an enemy, after all. ”There is something you can do for me,” she says as she takes one step back to allow more space between them. ”OH!” Her expression completely changes as she remembers something important from her childhood. Eyes dart across the desert scenery until she glances once back at the sea. She misses her mother already. ”My mother must be beating herself up for losing me.” She turns her gaze back towards Vanya. ”She has always fought for me even when my fathers dared to abandon me. I remember now. I have been to Salem once before, but it was little and my mother was attempting to get my father to at least visit me.” A deep sigh leaves her lips.

”Could you maybe find him? Just see if he still breathes?” She only needed to know he was alive and well. ”His name is Ra and last I knew he was living in the Hills.” Hopefully he was still there living under that rude mare Marceline. Hopefully Vanya didn't go expecting to find a stallion that looked like her. Devi bore no resemblance to Ra in any way.
