She hears her before she sees her, the black and white First Wife she had gone to ask the Emperor to save for the sake of the Bay. She panics at first, shrill whinny of surprise splitting the _ air, crisp despite the transition to spring. She would soon have at least warm days that would let her experience a bit of warmth despite her yet distanced state from the main grouping of the household.
Then there she is, wide as a river, careening through her little portion of the forest and speeding off towards where the majority of their family often congregated for safety or bedding down. She whirls with her, instantly recognizing her and that her return meant that in some form, Fell had now regained his happiness - even if he didn’t know it.
She is smaller, by a good margin, and doesn’t keep up very well with the long legged sixteen-hand mare. She has to take at least two strides for Kohelet’s every single one and it means she not only falls behind but is not at her best as they made it to where the other mare called out - singlemindedly beautiful in her desperation for their Husband. It warms her, knowing that the First Wife of their house was so devoted, so given over in emotion about returning to his arms.
She smiles, glad about the younger gem in Fell’s crown, and says - "It is good to see you well, Mistress. Our Husband was not himself without you by his side. When I saw him last he was to the north, but perhaps that would not be a good idea..." She looks concernedly to her swaying belly, "He will come. He will have heard you - and he is very attentive after the two attempts of theft in so many days."
She had said more than she intended, so she lowers her head and excuses herself silently, not wanting to intrude where she was not wanted or welcome - but also having become quite relieved by this young Kohelet’s return all the same.
