I am the monster in the woods;

Loupgaru might be a bit more naive than the average stallion of his age, but he was far from stupid as many assumed. Parvati included. It was true that in the spur of the moment, he tended to think with the more feral parts of his nature (definitely not the head on his shoulders), but that did not mean that in the moments when darkness encroached and passion faded that he did not spend his lonely hours in deep thought.

Since Yasmina’s birth, the golden eyed stallion found himself questioning the lack of fatherly instinct that was supposed to drive stallions to protect what was there own. He had listened to Parvati spew her reassurances and allowed her to thrust the girl to his gruff embrace but even he did not miss the noticeable curve of her dark ears. His caution was no doubt noticed, by the constant reassurance in the Inlet queen’s voice as she cooed her sultry words into his ears. Season after season, the reassurances built a drift around him, muffling his confusion and muting the reason behind it. Life continued on and once more Parvati had begun again to grow round with his child.

Yet even with that knowledge, the young wolf grew restless. The scent of the black boy that bordered them was as distinguishable as the musk of a rutting elk. More than that, his watchful gaze took notice to the growing number of visits that sent Parvati across said border. Sure attempting to steal the pretty little black and white filly might not have been the best idea but well… who could blame him? She seemed of fine breeding stock and young enough to bare him many children in the coming years. The fact that she seemed like quite the spitfire had merely been icing on the cake. Just when he imagined he might successfully have bested the black beast, Parvati had come to ruin the fun. Apparently alliances or whatever those were meant more to her than her second or growing their herd with more than just children of their own.

Even though he felt a bit betrayed, still he remained and merely bided his time, waiting to see if the Inlet queen would keep true to her word.

When her call rings over the snow covered meadows, the wolf is expectant. Small, fluted ears lift amid the wind knotted tangle of his cream and ivory mane as the burly hessian quickens his pace. Muscular neck coils as strong legs beat a quick path through the pine strewn forest towards her. Yet as he breaks past the barrier of dense brush and tangled holly, he comes to a halt. No prize. No promise kept.

Golden eyes darken as he released a hard huffing breath and gave his thick neck a shake, ridding himself of the excitement he had not realized that he built up within himself. Thick banner snaps audible against his stocky legs as more slowly now, he closes the gap of space between them. His gaze is shielded though his whiskered lips are pressed together grimly. ”You called?” he grumbles, flicking an ear towards her.
