This past fall marks the first time she made any real decisions towards her future. Deciding to leave the place she always knew as a new face rose to claim her home, it was scary. What was left of the old Ridge herd stayed behind as she left like a whisper on the wind. None of them really gave her much attention anyway. None of them were close, but growing up nearby meant they were like family to her. Distant family that she barely knew. Still family and it felt weird to leave them behind. Days past that she wandered Atlantis aimlessly. Time was slow with no where to go and no purpose to her cause. She was looking...for something. She wasn't sure what exactly, but something more than she already had.

It has now been two months since she has been off on her own. Until now, she has never left the comfort of Atlantis. The mare takes in a deep breath before slowly stepping into the cold ocean waters. Each step brings her closer to reaching someplace new. Perhaps she would even find the island she was born on. Her head dunks under the water once she was swimming. Curious eyes fight the burning sensation so that she could see the life under the water. She was in complete awe by what she saw.

Sand layered the bottom with a spot of beautifully colored plants. Small, multicolored, fish swam around the colorful plants. Being a lover of all creatures, Matoaka attempts to get a closer look, but the small fish scatter. She frowns as she brings her head back above the sea for fresh air. She has never explored life under the sea before, but it was as magical as she imagined it would be. Soon she could no longer see the sandy floor as she continues her swim away from Atlantis. She tries her best not too look back as the island gets smaller behind her.

She reaches the beach of the meadow, but she does not stop her journey there. Matoaka does rest, dry off, and do some grazing before she continues straight across the meadow towards the falls. It was the small mountains in the distance that perk her interest. She begins to imagine all the wonderful creatures she might find on this island as she walks. So far she only saw the same birds flying over head and a bunny or two, nothing too exciting. The closer she got to the small mountain she began to hear the sound of rushing water. There was a flowing stream nearby or even a waterfall.

Her mind quickly set on waterfall as she drew even closer. She could tell the distinct noise considering she has seen them before on Atlantis. What she didn't expect to find was the stallion standing in the middle of it. As she comes out to the opening of the bushes, she stands on the other side of the water watching the bathing stallion. She should look away, but she was too in awe of the beautiful waterfall pelting his back.
