mare | shetland x andalusian mutt | bay

Fell needn’t ask his blue mare twice; Because she knows the second ask will be more physical, and she’s not interested in having more of a confrontation than there already has been. And so she would move further inland, towards the meadow where she knew he usually preferred his mares to be; for they’d be far from the shoreline, and less of a temptation for rogue bachelors or band stallions.

Blue doesn’t ask Akulu to follow, she already has their young daughter conditioned enough to follow. With what all that they’ve been through? It was second nature at this point -- but that was when Asana approached. She moved quickly, and Akulu would perk her ears with interest…

Akulu doesn’t recognize the shadow moving towards her, at first. But as the breeze sighed past, Akulu recognized her scent. That’s when she felt as though she were looking at her reflection, and the black mare would approach her twin, bridging the distance between them by touching the velvet of her whiskered nose to Asana’s nose. It was only a heartbeat later that a squeal of delight filled the open of the bay, followed by a hop, only to bump and firmly brush shoulders.

Blue would have paused, observing the exchange, before everything within her rushed forward to press her nose against Asana’s neck, drinking in her scent.

It was a touching reunion, at least, for Blue and Akulu. “ My beautiful Asana. “ she replied in that husky, earthy tone. “ You have grown so big, and you’re leaps and bounds more gorgeous than you were in my dreams. “

Blue was distracted from the direction that Fell had asked of her, and it had softened her moodiness. She was home, finally. And her children -- both of them -- were within the realm of their territorial, and protective sire. Her blue gaze sets upon him, and she circles their reuniting daughters, only to touch him with her nose once more. Blue was noticeably stiff as she moved, each hoof fall was painful for her, but the excitement of being ‘home’ was leaps and bounds more rewarding than the throbbing of her hooves and legs.
