Zurok had only been around a short time and already an angry herd member had stepped up in defense. The sable leader did not blame him. Zurok had been in this same position before and knew the feeling well. The new leader asked for a months time, and if by then they still did not want him here he would battle the old leader. Ah, but could they reach a better solution? Did they have to fight? Zurok pondered the thought heavily as he glanced around his new home. There was plenty of space, and Zurok had no desire to keep or breed the mares that did not wish to be with him. They could have their freedom and still stay here. The slanky black arabian sighed heavily and trotted onward. He had passed a small gathering of the other members and did not make himself silent, but he also did not eaves drop or intrude. He simply carried himself forward with a slight nicker.

There was a time when Zurok would've taken everything and kept it for himself. The obsidian king sighed again as he found a place to stand with an overview of the new place. He called out to all those who lived here. It was time they all came together and spoke. Mayne getting to know each would make everyone at ease with his unwanted presence. Could it be possible to co-lead with the previous leader? From the rumors he had heard the previous leader had taken a serious injury or two. Zurok hoped for a peaceful resolution. He knew a challenge would brew if they could not speak peacefully. Again he lets out another loud call to ensure that everyone could hear. The thought crossed his mind that they might all simply leave and not show up to his calling. That would give him an answer to his question as well. He shook his sable coat and mane before lying down to take a grassy dirt roll. He shook himself again after he stood and grazed while he waited. His thoughts wandered to the mare he met in the commons. He had laid claim to her but did not wish to force her. Zuroks heart beat faster when he pictured her inside his mind. A smile to match his fluttering heart. He had been heartbroken before and despite it, his heart wanted her more. Was it possible she could fix his broken heart? Would she be strong enough to lead at his side? A lump built in his throat, but he quickly shook away the tears. For the first time in a long time, the sable king had found hope in a place he thought all was lost. Zurok enjoyed his grazing and thinking about the mare while he waited for everyone, including her.
