what to do in the wake of you

When Rougaru's answering call rings in her ears, Sinaet releases the breath she didn't truly know she was holding. Relief both washes over the mare and twists like a knife in her gut. Having him closer will do much to ease whatever this anxiety is that has coiled up in her veins, but she isn't sure that it will dissipate.

The baritone vocals that had answered her now murmured her name, much closer now than his original reply. Sinaet searches for him in the dark, a smile lighting upon her lips when she sees the moonlight on the line of his back, lighting some of the creamy strands of his mane. In the bright light of the full moon, the bay dun mare manages to see the smile on the stallion's face as he draws near.

Something akin to affection flutters in the mare's chest when Rougaru gives her this small affection. Sinaet wouldn't have expected this from herself. She was the sort to allow for distance, and that hadn't had a history of encouraging affection. Two foals and about 5 years in now though, she's softened toward the silver-haired male.

Her heart hums when he comes a mite closer, declaring their child's beauty and hers. The mare reaches out to the bay stallion to her express her own affection. Her muzzle gently presses against his cheek, then the crook of his neck. The scent of him floods her nostrils, and the mare hums contentedly before retracting.

Her own pale eyes turn to the babe now. The sound of his arrival had not fazed the little filly at her side. The short curly white tail of hers wiggles happily back and forth as she nurses. Her little head pops up after a moment, tail still whipping about excitedly. She glanced up at her mother. Upon discovering a new big shape in the dark, the filly turns her head more to look at him fully. She doesn't yet know that this is her father, but the curious expression on her face encourages a soft chuckle from her mother.

"Hemming. I've called her Hemming."
