Bold and brash in comparison to her father's brooding countenance, Osiris did not shy away from the handsome young stallion as he jogged toward them. In contrast to Reh's stiff frown, a beatific smile swept across her lips and she nickered quietly the moment he came into view, her whole countenance radiant with her eagerness to befriend someone new.

"Hi!" She answered back with a flutter of eyelashes. Without hesitation, she took a few bold steps away from her father's side - dodging the weight of his glare as she did so - and peered behind the handsome boy briefly. "The Prairie looks beautiful," she said, no trace of a lie in her voice. "Do you think you could show me -" a pointed cough from her father made her cheeks warm, "- us - around?"

Rehoboam remained behind on the beach, lips pursed. He knew that Osiris needed to get out and meet others her age, but knowing this and witnessing it firsthand were two very different things. He wished that she had the maturity to realize they needed to be cautious while also very much wishing that she was young enough to want to linger at his shoulder rather than approach the boy herself. They didn't know anything about this herd or who lived here, and while the boy might be eager to greet them, Rehoboam knew better than to believe that his father (or whoever actually lead this territory) would feel the same.

"We're just passing through," he clarified for Castillon's sake. "My name is Rehoboam, and this is my daughter, Osiris."

The proud umber flag of her tail slashed at the air between them, the strands stinging against his chest at her annoyance at being introduced by her father. The sidelong glare she cut him left no illusions as to whether the tail strike was on purpose, and he bit his lips to hide a smile.

"We were coming to visit," she said with wicked innocence, striding even further into the Prairie. "Because he met the love of his life here once upon a time and I wanted to see the place for myself... true love being hard to find and all."

Reh took a steadying breath and suppressed an exasperated chuckle. He knew it was a mistake to bring her here, and now he knew he was going to find out just how badly he'd screwed up by giving in. This trip would be her payback for all of those long months he'd kept her quiet and hidden on the Crossing. She was just as bold, just as beautiful as her mother, and he had always known that Celestine had the power to wreck his life with the power of a few well-chosen words. It was not then surprising that she'd granted their daughter the same dark ability.
