Eagerness glittered in his warm brown eyes as she steadfastly met his approach. As much as Raegar enjoyed sweet and soft mares, their timidness often made him feel as though he would break them somehow, trample over them accidentally with his own foolhardy boldness. It was why he often found himself pursuing fiercer mares, ones that would just as likely bruise his skin with their hooves as they were to caress it with their lips.

I'm Akulu, she answered, the underpinnings of a laugh making her voice delectably husky in his ears. -And I'm from Tinuvel's Bay. She finished, and he could not stop his eyes from widening with surprise, despite the fact that it seemed rather obvious now that he had considered it. Raegar had been drawn into his father's war with Fell by happenstance, but he had found a kindred soul in the fierce black stallion that had kept him coming back time and time again, picking fights for the sake of picking fights. There was something soothing about losing himself on the battlefield, knowing that he was not the only one that enjoyed the bloodshed for the sport that it was.

And in the process, Fell had become more than just the one-dimensional villain that his father had spoken of, and had become something akin to a friend, despite the fact that neither Fell nor Raegar had ever shared so much as a conversation.

His estimation of the lithe overo filly-now-mare - already quite high - rose another few notches and he allowed a breathy chuckle to escape his lips. "Ah, that explains it." A lopsided smirk curled on his lips as he dangled the bait, which broadened as she assured him of her ability to navigate.

"Because you like me," he answered roguishly, although not with much guile. It was a bold response to be certain, but also one he wholeheartedly believed in. "And I like you." Also painfully true, not that Raegar would bother denying it.

She spoke of his homeland then, and he smirked before replying. "Because if we told the truth and called it the prettiest place on the islands, we'd be overrun," he answers, his eyes crinkling at the corners with mirth. This, too, was sincere. Of course, Raegar was more than a little partial to his family's homeland, but he also sincerely believed that there was no better sunset than one viewed from the top of his canyons.

"You won't understand until you see for yourself," he murmured with a hint of a challenge. "There's nothing quite like it... But I understand if you're too afraid to take a chance..." He let the insinuation hang in the air between them, having leaned forward close enough that the space between them once more felt intimate, despite the fact that he was not touching her any more.
