When management at Scripps came up with the "news initiative" which led to a lot of layoffs and job changes across the company, many employees don't get it.
They are confused as they have watched co-workers getting laid off and Anchors being reassigned to Reporter jobs.
The "new way to do news" has not been a hit with the staff and the Scripps shareholders are also not impressed. Scripps stock as hit a 52-week-low and is struggling.
Management is once again trying to explain to its employees exactly what the "news initiative" is and what they can expect.
The plan is already in place at smaller market stations. The stations are pre recording newscasts, not having any Anchors, and doing other things that have some employees shaking their heads. Replies: There have been no replies.
