She smiles in patient understanding. Both for the darkness that crosses his eyes as she had seen happen on her father’s face when he was possessive, but also for the accusation leveled against her sire. There were many who held such views and worse that she’d heard of in passing. It simply did not matter in her instance in the way he presumed it might. She lets him finish, however, because she was not angry at anything he had broached in topics.
"I choose to be there. I choose to stay there. I choose the father that loves me simply because he loves me and has proven it by loving my mother and treating me well." It is another matter-of-fact dismissal, but there is a nugget of interest for him to nibble on if he were clever enough to read the mind behind the statement. Certainly she understood there was a certain lack of freedom inherent in living beneath her father’s rule - but love mitigated any chafing that might have come from the theft of her autonomy.
She tilts her head, "But what you say otherwise is fair. You cannot guarantee me the beauty of the things I could only know through fantasy. What I think is beautiful in my mind may very well turn sour in reality." She seems to contemplate this shift in what she’d told him would sell her on his home. "But still, to sell ones choices for all of the foreseeable future - for a mere curiosity? Certainly there haven’t been those foolish enough to do it… We are wild creatures, we wilt under the crushing hooves of leaders if they do not have at least our respect - even if we do not love them. I will choose love. Curiosity and respect do not compare to knowing you are kept where you are, safe even if a bit stifled, because you are cherished."
