The first group that he had welcomed into the Dunes had been Martyr and his sister, the youngest member not promising to stay long at all - if the sparkle in Tribulation’s eyes had been any way to guess. The other had been Lucien, a young son of his daughter’s husband. As good as a grandnephew, no matter the convoluted crisscrossing. It had been a comfort, offering something to one of Rafe’s children after he’d saved his daughter and himself from embarrassing hair-splitting.
When he had spotted the young male while on patrol, he was glad that Lucien had his first companion - his intention to build a large family bringing warmth to Antares’ heart and he only intended to greet the two on their afternoon.
His blood red mane flaps in the dunes wind and strokes along the seashell pink dappled neck, his bloodmarked leg, shoulder, and head just as bright as the locks. "Who are the other horses who rule in Salem?" he hears, and he smiles at her description of Tinuvel - sounding very like the Sadim itself and precisely why he had opened his borders to two other families that had no real ties to his own.
"Pardon my intrusion," he says with a smile, turning his eyes to Lucien so that he might nod in greeting at first, "I am the landholder of the Dunes, Antares. I am glad to see Lucien has found someone like-minded enough to come and keep him company." He does not extend his nose, waiting for her or Lucien to do so first so as not to intrude further. "There is also, if I might answer the question further, Martyr. He and his family were new to the islands and will be your western neighbors, as I am your eastern one."
