Re(4): Quiet September

we have had Barred Owl and Great Horned Owl calling from the woods around us. For a couple of days there's been a Hermit Thrush feeding on a crabapple, and chattering in the woods. Red-bellied Woodpeckers have been extremely vocal lately. There was a group of Red-winged Blackbirds, actually singing, alongside the river behind our place on Friday. Song, Chipping and White-throated Sparrows have been passing through. And we saw American Pipits grouping in farm fields in Oro-Medonte and Ramara over the weekend. At night there are lots of peeps and whistles of migrants. So, no shortage of birds around our neighbourhood. But there are very quiet moments through the day.
