 Asphara turns to look at him and his ears prick with uncertainty. She did not seem bothered by his approach at least and he takes another tentative step forward, though he does not go close to the foal. The little bundle appeared to be doing alright, for the moment, though Balerion was certainly no expert. He barely remembered his birth and what moments of it he did, he wasn't sure would be helpful. And his mother hadn't had a baby this year so he hadn't seen a lot of births...if any.
"Do with it?" He asked with a cock of his head and a small snort, that was more like a small laugh. "I don't think you have to name it right away. My mom said she didn't name me for a few days." He wasn't sure if that was the norm but he trusted his mother so he guessed it was alright!
"I'm Balerion. My mom is Estella and my dad is Drogon." He knew he wasn't very threatening being rather small himself, but he wanted to make it clear that he did in fact live here and wasn't some vagabond who just wandered in. "I think I remember my mom cleaning me first. It's probably hungry." He wanted to help. Estella would say he was a wonderful boy with a good heart, and maybe she was right. He hoped she was. He wanted to make his parents proud of the man he would become, and being helpful was the first step.
He nodded thoughtfully at her explanation. "My sister is like that. Vhagar. She never really stayed with the herd. I don't think she felt like she belonged," he bit his lip, his eyes growing a bit warm. "But she did. I think you do too. We all live here together." Balerion would be the first to admit he didn't socialize with Tyr's herd very much. He clung to his mother's side for most of his early life, and only branched out when Estella herself became distant. Tyr had allowed them to stay when he'd taken over the Ridge. He'd never met him personally, but if he allowed them to stay surely he wouldn't want Asphara so far away. "I think it would be welcome too," he gestured to the foal. |
