Bacardi did not expect Twinge to like his judgement, and punishment, to the situation. But he had expected her to handle it a little better than she did. Feeling the scrape of her teeth on his hip brought Bacardi to a stop, his dark face turning so that he could cast his gaze over the angry mare. He knew that a scuffle could ensue between them to relieve tensions and to help Twinge work out her frustrations, but with Burn already getting a head start, it was all the further Bacardi couldn’t chase Burn into a tiring run.


“Suppressing him is only going to make him act out worse.” Bacardi replied bluntly to the painted woman. Who better to know those very words than herself? “He has to take responsibility for his actions, as he’s doing now. But he isn’t a child anymore. If he’s not given more to do as a stallion, then he will continue this disruptive behavior.” He wanted to reach back to her, to try and sooth her, but Bacardi figured his touch would only be greeted with teeth. So, for now he keeps himself from touching her, no matter how badly he wanted to.


“In the meantime, while we’re gone, figure out what responsibilities would best suit him. I’m afraid if we don’t start directing him now, for a better future, then this destructive nature will only get worse. But I also want him exhausted by the end of every night.” Bacardi cringed at the thought of Burn being one of the wild, unruly bachelors causing havoc from the Lagoon. He had been raised better than that, and he wanted to raise his son better than that too. But it would take Twinge’s help in doing so. With one last look at the angry mare, he hurried on to catch up with their son.
