Silence stretched on like a wayward tide. Nahawi took it as a good enough part on his end and let his eyes flutter closed while he breathed, now fully slabbed out on his side groaning every so often. He really wished that tree had not been in his way and he had not slipped on the ground. Yet, he had managed to give a mare information that she had needed and now he was really curious about something and it had his one eye peeking open as he set his blue eye upon her. She was standing there once again going through emotions and honestly just watching her made him even more tired. What was it with mares and going fifty miles an hour through their emotions?
Huffing, he did not raise his head as he listened to her words for a moment. She offered help, but he would not take it without offering something of his own in return. “I will take help, if you wish for something in return.” He finally mumbled, his body content to just look like a splayed starfish at this point. “You help me heal and I will do what I can until my dying breath to get you to Vadim.” There, his voice died. He knew he should not stay in the Inlet forever, but he could not get up himself and he was not about to make her pick up his large self and stand him up like a set of dinosaur legos. She had her own issues and his body did not need to be another.
Grunting, Nahawi took in a faintly shuttering breath. “I am not like the other stallions of the lagoon. I promise with my blood here as a note for anyone that I will take you to him. Vadim has to be looking for you or trying to find a way here, why not make it easier?” With that, Nahawi raised a brow before once more his eye closed and the world fell into the darkness of the backside of his lids. Was this… Was this what it felt like to help someone? The warmth in his chest and actually wanting to be there to help instead of a lonely shadow? Could he, Nahawi, the young lagoon stallion, save this mare from her fate here in the Inlet?
