I SEE DARKNESS IN YOU, BLOCK

ISENGRIM.
Isengrim had been spending a morning lounging in the dense foliage nearest the beach. It had become a favored resting spot for him, at least for now. Though he'd been with the lagoon for several months now he was still adjusting to the acrid smell of the swamp and the salt of the beach was refreshing. His nostrils quivered as the scent of a mare wafted by and he opened his ice-colored eyes, hazily and sleepily focusing on the fleeing mare. With an aggravated grunt, Isengrim raised himself to his feet. DIgging his hooves into the supple ground beneath him, he took off.

It did not take more than a few steps for him to throw himself into the sea. It was a familiar chill around him, like Tinuvel. Though he did not consider the snow-covered island his home, and perhaps he never had, there was something calming about the feel of the cold. He dipped his head beneath the waters, accepting the cold embrace, as he paddled after her.

The young stallion follows her onto the shore, ears pinned. "I could have done without the interruption, you know." His voice is deep, despite his age, already gravelly and dark, like the darkest depths of an old forest. Isengrim arches his neck and steps forward, attempting to block her from going any deeper into the territory. He snaps idly at the air between them, the threat clear. "Come on now, let's get home." He snaps his long dark tail against his salt-soaked haunches as he steps closer, attempting to herd her back to the sea.
