I suspect Sears ran WEstern AUto out of business, and Walmart plus clothiers ran Sears out. sears was gonna reopen their Craftsman and Household brands to smaller stores but they never did. Instead, Sears sent their Kenmore appliance and Craftsman tools to the Lowe's kind of stores.
They still service their hardgoods under Sears trucks but I dont know who owns them. The svc operation is still as good as its always been, tho the repairmen always lament to me that theres a shortage of skilled craftmen kids coming out of HS. They're running their people ragged with Overtime Demands. I've heard that from Overhead Door too...not enough kids are going into expert repair work. We all know schools hve generally dropped their shop classes nationwide. Too bad, I thought that was good for middle school boys like me. We buy our household goods from Lowes, HomeDepot etc, and a lot of older skilled craftsmen work the stores to tell us how to fix things.
As you know a lot of manufacturing went to China and our workforce skills have slipped. Replies: There have been no replies.
