The American actor Robert Downey Jr. has a series on motor cars on Home Box Office (HBO) on TV. Today I watched his show where the US Secretary of Defence, GEN Lloyd Martin, stated that the US Defence Forces now need to take on board the matter of climate change. Can you believe it? The US Army now has a Climate Change Division, which has a General in Command. Downey, under the supervision of a full Colonel, put one of the latest US Army all-terrain EV’s through it’s paces and it seems to have performed well…that is on level ground. Momentarily, out in open territory, the vehicle was seen to be receiving a charge from a ‘mobile’ charging device. I only briefly caught a glimpse of part of the device, but I am guessing that it was probably a petrol, or diesel operated charger. How would a large number of these EV’s go if they were utilized in a large scale operation like Desert Storm for example. Wait until they start having batteries catching fire and exploding.
