ZARIA

There had been a few times in her years, (the years where she had been caught between filly and mare) when she had considered searching for him. The blonde-haired, green-eyed boy who had come strutting proudly into the Arch that day with intentions of taking her home. What home? She had not known. Mother and father had both made mention of the Lagoon but what was it? Where was it? From the way that Suleiman had spat the word and the fear that danced behind Raksha’s words at the mere mention, Zaria assumed it must not be anywhere good. The fact that Father forbade her from following to interrogate the stranger had only served to pique her curiosity even further. Were it not for her bothersome brothers, Zaria might have finally had her answers.

But perhaps she would finally learn them now. It was only fate that her stranger had found her once more right?

Chocolate-tipped ears flicker at the sound of his deep-tenured voice. A coy smirk tugs at the corners of her pink labrums as he brushes off her prodding words with a smooth recovery. Silver-blue eyes glitter behind the lacey veil of her russet forelock. ”Ahhh yes, that must be it.” she teases, making a point of rolling her eyes in exaggerated disbelief. This was fun.

’My name is Vadim…’ he begins again, causing her gaze to once more settle on his ruggedly handsome face. Vadim. She replays the name again in her mind, tasting the syllables on her own tongue and savoring how smoothly it connected with the memory. Vadim.

Again he speaks, the playful banter continued in the amused tone of his voice. She chuckles softly and gives her chocolate-colored tail a brisk flick. ”Yes there were quite a few names that have come to mind over the years… Vadim sounds much better than pigeon or seagull honestly.” she purrs, doing her best to keep the Cheshire grin from slipping into place. This was so much more fun than fighting with her brothers. Why her heart fluttered she isn't sure but she is far from ready to let it send her running for the hills. This was her time. Her turn to get the answers she had been searching for.

Bravely she closes the space between them, bringing her pale muzzle close to his own so that her words need a mere whisper to be heard. ”Why did you come for me?” Then? Now? The meaning is cryptic but it is there nonetheless. Today she would get her answers as unblinking eyes search the depths of his own multifaceted pools.
