Re(1): Pool Sizes w/Goiko

The first game Goiko played in Friday night, game 6 a 9-point singles, had a whopping $3,326 wagered into the Superfecta, which blew away the previous high of $2,242 for e Superfecta pool from 12/1/2022-on.

The Trifecta pool average on Friday night was a respectable $4,040. The last Saturday night of the previous meet on 1/28/2023 had an average of $4,311 with the final Friday night on 1/27 had an average of $4,583 with $5,266 wagered on game 3 Trifecta pool that night.

The early Pick 3 pool on Friday night was $1,712 which is very large for those playing the Pick 3. The other largest Pick 3 pools over the weekend were $1,523 and even a respectable $1,324 on Sunday mat.

The essentially last minute reveal of this with details of who was coming to Dania, the super high airfares in December near holidays plus expensive hotel rates this time of year in S. Fla. did not help and I wouldn’t blame any fans and surely not anyone’s performance on the court. I was quite surprised with this competing event with a “long-timed planned event across town” on Friday night, but surely, blaming that on this lower than expected turnout on Friday night saddens me and IMO appears like a low-blow even though not intended to be I would think as it's self-inflicted.

I had a very enjoyable weekend watching Goiko perform and with the hard posts he had on Friday night, I was not surprised at the outcome and even told several I would not be surprised if he was not ITM. Good grief, all the negativity on this is shocking from some of the folk here and really uncalled for. I can just imagine the surprise from Goiko with the film crew there and the unexpected empty seats (not too good for the documentary). It quite simply was the wrong time of the year for this big Goiko event IMHO and these things need more time for fans to make plans. Nobody should be surprised at the lower than expected LIVE attentance.

I wish I could attend LIVE Jai-Alai but at my age and medical conditions, my getting out of the house is usually a short trip for an appointment with the doc. I would imagine there were many watching from home and even many more watching the recordings.
