Re(1): Notes From Dumb Ass Sean McLaughlin

The goal of stations is to meet their sales and income projections balanced against expenses and debt.

Sometimes the cost of becoming dominant in a market is very expensive and not worth the expense, so long as the property is meeting its objectives.

Kansas City's always been a market where everyone was happy meeting projections. The goal for stockholders is stock value and return, not some promotional ad claim after cooking the book. "Claiming FIRST" does not increase the shareholders wealth necessarily. Wouldn't you agree to that, expecially if the station was a new acquisition and debt was high for awhile? Everything isn't about this quarter and next in business.

Did you go to business school or just radio-tv-film?
