Question of the week #317 (REDUX) - What's wrong with playing lefty?

Still looking for something definitive.
#317 - What's wrong with playing lefty?
Posted on September 14, 2009 at 08:05:32 AM by Tiger

I tried asking this once before and was met with a chorus of snorts and guffaws. Further, no one even provided an answer. Maybe the intent of the question was missed.

It seems to me (a non-player) that you'd be better off playing on your strong side, but I'll let you tell me otherwise.

I'd like to get some TECHNICAL answers (technique, angles, spin, etc), not the same old generalities. So, telling me it's "because the wall is on the left" or "it would be too dangerous" aren't going to cut it. They don't really explain anything. What I want to know is ... WHY?

Or, is it stubborn tradition (a self-fulfilling prophecy)?

Also, consider if more than one player was playing lefty.

And, what about playing without a side wall (as many may have learned)?
