ISMA/MSS Supermodifieds is excited to announce a return to the South on Friday, November 8th (Qualifying & Heats) and Saturday, November 9th (60 Lap Feature). It has been a long fourteen (14) years since the big block Top Wing Supermodifieds competed in this part of the country. You won't want to miss these ultimate short-track racing machines that are unlike any other type of open-wheel race cars as they compete with the Tour Type Modifieds in the John Blewett III North-South Shootout in Memory of Charles Kepley at Caraway Speedway. Kepley was the founder of the NSS that featured the Tour Type Modifieds and the big block Top Wing Supermodifieds. Caraway Speedway is a .455 mile asphalt track located near Asheboro, NC.
Darren Hackett owner of Caraway Speedway contacted Danny Soule ISMA/MSS President with interest in adding Supermodifieds to their 22-year-old North South shootout event. Danny then met with Caraway's Operation/Competition Director Randy Myers at PRI to collaborate and finalize the details. So, our thanks to Darren, Randy and Danny for making this event happen!
The plan will be to bring fans great racing action, establish a track time for Supermodifieds and then break the track record for Caraway Speedway currently being held by George Brunnhoelzl III, in a NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified @ 15.648.
