SHAHIN

⬩ regret ⬩

▻ none (x none) ◅

Her family was gone and Regret was not, leaving her feeling a bit bereft but ultimately not unhappy. Her brothers kept her from feeling as detached from the Dunes as Niyat had seemed to become. It was sad to watch such a young princess taking the weight of her parents’ needs onto her shoulders - but Niyat had always been the most filial of the daughters. Nashira was too moved by the world at large, had probably intervened with the mares trapped by the Lagoon to give excuse to having more motivation to live amongst those sisters than her own blood.

Shahin, falcon-daughter of Atair, was not so muddled by the ‘greater things’ like the princesses. No family affiliated sacrifices or world-changer motivations. She was happy here, amongst the dunes and in the spray of windblown sand. She was content with the stallion that had grown less affronted by her - claimed long before she understood what it was she saw in him. The potential of him was more and more intriguing by the day, but even then she was not so moved as to follow him if he left these places of her youth.

The dunes were hers in a way they’d never be anyones, she felt it in her heart. Claiming them and simply BEING amongst them did not equal one another. She was a part of this place and loved it sincerely. As much as her uncle Rigel was a part of the slot canyon to the north.
