The Arabian stallion shifted his weight from leg to leg as his gaze drifted once more over the clawing wounds so achingly fresh on the other male. The thought of such a creature so deadly nearby made him uneasy. It happened on another island, not this one, which was his one solace. Helios had not seen any such creatures yet on Salem in the few seasons he had lived among the vast dunes. A hope bloomed in his chest that his children would not have to see or fear such things whilst they remained here.
The darker chestnut was glad that the other male was at least hale enough to laugh. That was a good sign. Perhaps the healing of those terrible wounds he bore would not prove to be too much for him after all. Helios nods at the stallion’s question, tossing his head only enough to shake the cream tendrils of his forelock out of his line of sight. “Indeed I am.” The Arabian looked at him quite directly before saying anything else. He didn’t like hurting the already injured. It didn’t seem like an honorable thing to him. Though, if provoked, Helios would change his mind.
