Dude, I've been tellin ya for years, its the companies who will do what they think they have to do to make money off of you.
Corporations look at employees as hired hands, an expense, a commodity.
NOthing's changed, you want the jobs so you'll endure what corporations do because you have no choice. Too many people want your job and to get paid less. Especially you overpaid prompter readers who come in, read the prompters a couple times and go home to your lives.
YOu're in a mature industry that is no longer needed to push NY programming out to the masses. Don't live too high on the hog with luxury houses, cars and adventure, because unless you're seeing the end of the work life within a decade, you will need to make your move when YOU"RE ready...don't put it off.
Develop new skills just like the rest of us did. Automation's been changing America's skill needs for years and it's your turn.
This is not a surprise. THis was foretold and you're like millions of us...hoping against home no one will upset your gravytrain.
