He had not meant to be so emotionless, but he also did not really wish to over step with Cromer. He loved her dearly and it showed at times, but in others he had to remember she did not wish for him to treat her differently. She was very important to Voyager, but she was her own horse and did as she liked. He would never shower her with love for he did not think it was her way, but he also was not entirely sure just what she wanted either. Cromer was a wandering soul stuck in the Forest and in many ways, Voyager questioned if she was really happy here.


Shaking his head as he walked, the stallion shoved away his thoughts and let his amber gaze flick over to Halcyon. “I.. I would like to ask what took you to the commons? That place is a bit stressful to find yourself in.” Voyager had been lucky to get to her first and he wondered just how bad off she could have had it if he hadn't. He was not bleeding heart really, but he did wear it on his sleeve and was very much a stallion that viewed mares as more than a prize. Halcyon was new here, but he did hope that she would grow to understand he would treat her how she wished. He would treat her like a queen if she asked, or just another member if she wanted. Her life was her own to live and he would never force her into anything.


Moving a bit farther, Voyager looked to the darkening sky before turning their trail and heading to where he bedded down at night with his family. With another mare in his herd, he would have to make sure that he paid more attention walking around in the darkest of the night to protect them. He did that now, but he had not done it well enough in a while and it begged the question of how long did he have before someone came for his small family?
