ABYZOU
Mare | 15.1hhs | Chestnut Frame Overo Somatic Mutation | Of The Lost Island Wilds

Standing under the shade, my eyes reflected a touch of light. The anger on my skin was palpable, but I spoke no words. The need to escape this place and run away was high in my heart, but my body did not let me leave. My muscles were rigid and my heart was racing, but nothing wanted to move. I wanted to leave this watery place in my past, but the sound of hooves coming near had my ears flicking forward and heterochromatic eyes searching until they landed upon a stranger of pale colors.

Shaking my head, I gave a faint sigh as he went for a drink and then turned towards me. My grey and red body was poised to attack, but the sound he gave was nicer than she had envisioned. A horse of his stature and the way his skin held scars had me thinking he would attack and force me somewhere, but instead he just stayed by the lake and watched me as if he knew where I was without a doubt. It unnerved me, but I did not show it as I slowly left the shade of the tree and let my ruined body face him, the somatic mutation plain to see upon my neck, shoulder, and chest.

Tossing my head faintly, I gave a sigh as my forelock just went right back in front of my eyes. I would like to see him, but the long strands were now hindering my full sight so I worked on shaking it back a bit and let my gaze fully rest upon him. “Greetings stranger.” My voice was choppy, the anger and sorrow lacing every word. My muscles were still ready to leave, but the way he did not seem aggressive aided in me being calm. I did my best to hold everything in, but a horse could only do so much with their fight or flight mode.

“My name is Abyzou.” My name was given to me for my way of birth. I hated what it meant, but could not change it. I could go by a different name, but that would be a lie to anyone and everyone around me. They needed to know I was a monster, a sibling eater. No one would understand unless they had done the same, but this stallion did not have the same marks so I was curious if he had killed a sibling even outside of the womb. Was he a monster like me? Could he be something dark and sinister but hiding it so well that I could not know?
