GUIDELINES

- the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
- anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
- adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
- the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
- the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors
you know the tune so the words dont matter

He couldn’t keep himself from grinning widely as Eira looked up at him with her cheeks thoroughly stuffed with grass, little blades still sticking out of her lips before she ground them back in with the rest. Castillon even chuckled softly at the sight, but felt how warmed his heart was. His gaze still wandered briefly over to the other mare, Snapdragon, who’d yet to say a word herself. At least she appeared to be relaxed now, even if she wasn’t as open as Eira had seemed to be.

“You’re welcome,” he offered kindly in return, eyes drawing back to Eira as the painted mare expressed gratitude.

Castillon allowed there to be silence, walking slowly up the hillside to glance out across the rolling hills and back the way they’d come, making certain no late pursuers were on their way. But, once he took note of no one coming, he nodded to himself and turned back to wander down to where both mares were resting.

“No one appears to have followed you,” he concluded as he met them back down near the water, looking between them both but ultimately deciding it was Eira he would address, since she was the one who had talked to him thus far. “I understand if you don’t want to share what you were fleeing from in the Badlands…” he trailed off, not wanting to put a pin in the happy bubble that’d just begun to form for her, “But if they are forcing members to stay there against their will, my father is going to want to know.” He glanced again between the two, waiting to hear the story of what it was they felt the need to escape from. “He’s pretty adamant against that stuff,” he clarified with a bit of a grin, despite the seriousness of their conversation.
