My take

I am a fan of Carballos game. His mechanics are not good but he makes up for it with his physical gifts. He is pound for pound the best pure athlete in jai alai today. He is fast, strong and has incredible cat like agility.
What I see in his game is mamba like competitiveness. The dude wants to win badly.
Having watched that replay what i saw is a lack of jai alai experience from Carballo. I have been in Goixerri's situation and all one can do is hope you don't die . I have also been in Carballo's position and you have to know where your opponent is at all times. If Carballo had true professional jai alai instincts he would have thrown a soft carom and Goixerri (being a true pro) would have given him the point to preserve his safety. Carballo threw at him without regard of Goixerri's position on the court and total disregard for his safety.
I think Carballo let his adrenaline get the best of him on how reacted instead of owning up to how close he came to seriously hurting Goixerri. His first instinct should have been an apology out of respect. Instead he shows a lack of respect for the game and a lack of respect for peers. Manu showed how one should handle this situation by how he grilled his partner and apologized to his opponent. I lost a lot of respect for Carballo for how badly he handled his mistake. Total lack of professionalism.
