There is little doubt that Scripps is taking on water as the company continues to punch holes in the boat.

The company has almost $1 billion in cumulative losses to shareholders.

A Scripps executive who recently left the company was surprised to see that Scripps has hired a company to conduct "exit interviews" for former employees.

"I recently left Scripps after more than a decade in a leadership position and thought it was normal or perhaps a new process as no one from HR had a conversation with me about leaving beyond an email on how to use COBRA if needed," the former Scripps employee told FTVLive.

The former employee says that people who left recently or years ago are being asked to give feedback on why they left, where they are, if local leadership impacted their decision, if senior leadership did the same, if job security was a concern, if compensation played a role, etc.

"The final questions were, "Would you be willing to come back to Scripps?" and "What would it take for you to change your mind?" The former Scripps employee said.

"My answers were honest. My response to the last questions were an emphatic 'No' and 'No answer.'" the employee added.

It wasn't that long ago that Scripps was one of those companies that a journalist would want to work at. Now, judging by all those who contacted FTVLive, Scripps is now a company to stay away from.

I'm not sure Scripps can turn this around without major changes.

I also think they need to dump their consulting company despite it costing the company a boatload of money.

The company stock hit another 52-week LOW on Monday.
