I was informed yesterday of the passing of Jennifer Ann Mooney (Jenny) nee Hitchins. Jenny was the daughter of AIRCDRE Dave Hitchins (Dec). Jenny passed away on 6th December 2023 from leukaemia.
Jenny was a strong advocate for airman aircrew, her father being a former NCO pilot. She attended a couple of the Airman Aircrew Reunions and occacionslly provided input on social media on airman aircrew topics.
I had spoken with Jenny from time-to-time and I found her to be very pleasant and likeable. She was such a lovely person with a great personality. Such a sad loss and I'm sure one which many are not aware of.
I have no details on her illness or whether it was a sudden diagnosis or one which she had harboured and had not disclosed.
I understand that Jenny's husband, Peter, had passed away some time ago. Jenny has a son, Anthony, who is an avionics technician based at Amberley.
