having a wonderful time!

I DON'T WORRY,
WORRYING DON'T AGREE
THINGS THAT BOTHER YOU, NEVER BOTHER ME!

One would think suffering such a traumatic event very shortly after giving birth would certainly change Talya’s behavior no matter how hard she tried to block the memories out. Yet, it did not. Shortly after recovering physically from the event, Talya was trotting back to the Shore and then, when her newest friend was traded off to the Forest, Talya had been so excited about seeing the Forest again that she decided she was going to go along too. All without telling him or the new guy who apparently claimed the Shore.

(Shouldn’t she have been worried about her daughter becoming homeless shortly after giving birth to a foal? Her first no less? Worried about where exactly her grandchild was?)

Instead, Talya just encouraged her stocky little cream daughter into the waters after the pair of stallions and swam their way from Atlantis to Luthien by Talya’s heart. The Forest would always be a place of some of her best memories (spare one) but as she strode up the shore and into the trees she found herself feeling a little bit bummed out. “You should have seen it when the Forest Goddess was here,” she lamented to little Theobroma, who looked up at her mother with big, innocent eyes.

“There was a goddess here mama?” The little voice asked.

“Yep! She was beautiful.” Reverence in her voice as always for Persephone, the mare Talya had always called the Forest Goddess.

“Wow,” Theobroma stretched out her awe in the way a child could, so fascinated to learn new information and ready to accept everything her mother said was true.

“Hey! There you are!” Talya suddenly shouted out with glee, tossing her head and trotting further inland to where she’d seen the shape of her friend looming amongst the overgrowth. “We came too!” She proclaimed, little Theobroma trailing confusedly (but excitedly) in her mother’s wake.
