Standing there and watching her small family, Lucine felt a smile curl against her lips a bit bigger. Her eyes twinkled with unshed tears as she let her gaze stick upon the stallion of her heart. Lucine never felt uneasy about other mares joining her family for they would all be her family. However, the mare did hope that Nicodemus would not make enemies of other territories as she was not cut out to fight against them to save herself and her child. She might be a young mother, but Lucine did not have the heart to go out and fight to advance in strength.
Humming a soft breath, Lucine let her head turn as the soft sound of birds filled her ears. The trio was so happy and calm that the birds themselves seemed to want to sing in their presence. Flicking her ears, Lucine listened a bit longer to the birds before she let her head shift back to her small family. Giving a faint whiny, the mare nudged the child before she began to run, her hooves hitting the ground in bouncing steps as their son ran with her, his own childish whicker filling the air as they called for Nico to run with them.
Running over a stretch of land until they were on an open hill, Lucine let her hooves stop and watched as her son reared up and neighed into the air. The land was changing and so was the herd, but the mare did not let that stop her. Laughing, Lucine reared up on her own hind legs and kicked at the air with her own crying neigh. The Inlet had gained another member this spring and she was excited to show him off and maybe, just maybe, this would be the good luck charm for the rest of her life as she waited for Nico to come join them letting all of those that could hear know that there was new life to a quiet land.
