Falls

Nahawi stood on the edge of the Shore, his mind replaying things he had said in the past. His heart ached and his mind broke, but the red dun shoved it all away as his tail flicked against his hocks. He had so many things to fix and do, but he did not let them cloud his entire focus. He needed to escape, to leave his home and run away. He had never been one to run away, but finally he had to. Aase could only do so much and in the time they had lived here, he had only kept his sights on her from afar after everything with Shiloh. He did not want to smother her and make her feel like she was less than she deserved. So many conflicting emotions had Nahawi diving into the ocean with tears falling down his face from anger, shame, and uncertainty. Had he done the wrong thing taking the Shore?

Rising onto the crossing, Nahawi let his hooves guide him towards the Falls. The red dun was so lost in his memories that he did not notice Devi right off the bat. It took her calling his name and speaking for him to pull himself out of his broken brain fog to register that she was there. His blue eyes became focused as he scanned her, his first instinct to check her for injuries. “Devi?” He questioned, his head tilting to the side as he scanned her for a moment longer. A slow smile then began to curve his lips as he gave a nod, his head bobbing up and down for a faint moment. “I… I needed to escape.” He finally sighed, his body shifting to face the large lake around the Falls. “Things have been rough.” He muttered before flicking a blue eye towards her. “What has you here instead of the Inlet with Parvati?” Nahawi did not know yet that Nicodemus had taken over her home.
