i'm stuck somewhere between mourning and dancing

"I'm not just any boy-" he had started, his words settling like a purr in the mare's ears. Both of Sinaet's darkly rimmed ears had twisted toward him, their forward position indicating her interest. The coy smile had reached her eyes when Fell's snort sounded. The splash-marked mare flicked her pale eyes to the black stallion, the one who had allowed her to stay here just as much if not more so than Canis had. Any smirk or smile she may have had melted back into the cool mask of neutrality that usually presented on her face.

The blood thrummed in her veins, heart quickening at the sound of the painted stallion's laugh. Her seafoam eyes return to the overo. Sinaet would have raised an eyebrow at the young male if she could. How could he find such amusement at the sight of the Bay's leader? Sinaet watched him silently as his pale maw reached to her again. She did not reach back and was much more curious to see what he would do even with Fell watching. It felt like a stolen moment and a challenge.

White lips brushed over a span of skin along her neck. It was merely a whisper of a touch, but it set her nerves aflame. Eyelashes fluttered once as the paint pulled away. His words stir a mixture of feelings in the mare as he turned and pursued Fell. The bay dun lingered for a moment while looking after the pair before disappearing into the trees. Her stomach was in knots, which both thrilled and perturbed her. For once, she almost hoped he would return, just so she could see how he intended to follow through.
