drove it like i stole it

half agony, half hope

The mare that turned to make their way in her direction was one that Corvette recognized by sight alone and she offered an easy grin as she also worked to close the gap between them. They were of a similar condition to her own, which did not seem to be a particularly rare thing in the Bay. Her child, at least, would grow up with other playmates to learn from and a father who was present, and not preoccupied with his grandiose plans.

Or, at least she hoped. In reality, she knew little of Fell beyond his charm and capability as a sire. Those were enough for her, for now, but she hoped that with time she would eventually have a chance to get to know him better.

"Hello," she greeted, her petite ears pricking forward in interest. The mare was pretty, her body a soft golden hue that caught every fractal of light in the soft downy winter fur, giving her an almost halo-like effect. Where Corvette was almost plain white now, retaining only the faintest gold in the dapples of her coat, this mare was stunning and a flicker of envy passed through her mind and then away.

"Trying to," she said with a soft chuff of laughter. "It's so much less fun than I remember when I was growing up in the Inlet as a girl." She chuckled and flicked her tail across her haunches. "I'm Corvette de Ironclad," she said, inclining her head and closing the last of the distance.

She peered around them at the wintry landscape, a rueful smile on her lips. "My family used to own the Inlet forever ago." Corvette turned her gaze back to the mare with a grin. "Did you grow up around here?"
